Eric Dresselhuys is the CEO of ESS, Inc., the leading provider in long-duration energy storage which is one of the key technologies to enable the decarbonization of the energy system. He has over 25 years of experience working on technologies to further sustainability within the energy and utilities space. Eric is a passionate leader with broad knowledge across a range of product and corporate development, go-to-market strategy, regulatory affairs and team building.
Prior to joining ESS Inc., Eric was the Co-Founder and EVP of Global Development at Silver Spring Networks, a leading provider and innovator in the Internet of “Important” Things, Smart Grids and Smart Cities. This led to an IPO in 2013 (NYSE: SSNI) and an eventual sale to Itron (NASDAQ: ITRI).
As an active member of the energy industry, he currently serves as the Chairman of Enian, LTD. in London and on the board of directors of AutoGrid, Inc. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events and author on issues related to the energy transition.
Eric holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and earned an Executive Certificate in the Internet of Things from the Sloan School at MIT.
