Cameron Brooks is Vice President of Strategic Growth & Policy with Opus One Solutions, a Toronto-based software company providing enterprise solutions that provide visibility and control of distribution systems and DER for utilities and grid operators. He is also founder and President of E9 Insight, a Boulder, Colorado, research firm that tracks regulatory proceedings and provides customized research for U.S. electric utility industry companies, agencies, and organizations. Previously, Cameron led Tolerable Planet Enterprises, an advisory firm that provides a unique combination of regulatory engagement, business development and policy strategy for philanthropies, advocates, technology providers and government agencies.
Cameron is a seasoned executive whose career includes senior positions in smart grid, clean energy, finance and project development firms and nonprofits. Cameron was Vice President of Policy for Tendril, where he led the development or a regulatory team and led advances in open data policies before the US Congress, Department of Energy, White House, FCC, FERC and both federal and state agencies. Previously, Cameron structured development partnerships for renewable energy credits and carbon offsets at Renewable Choice Energy and led public-private investment outreach programs for the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA). Cameron’s earlier experience spans a wide range of environmental, green building and adventure and environmental media roles. Cameron is a graduate of Yale University (Cultural Ecology and Ecologic Design) and holds an MBA from Cornell University (including an immersion in energy markets). He and his family live in Boulder, Colorado.
