Jim is a Managing Director in Accenture’s Utilities Strategy team.   In this role, he works with leading North American electric & gas utilities to address the critical issues facing their businesses.  He has more than 20 years of utilities and energy industry experience and serves as an industry thought leader on the business, policy and technology dimensions of a more distributed power system. His latest focus has been on the shift towards customer-centric business models, distributed energy resources and grid modernization.   Jim has worked with utility industry leaders in shaping the next horizon of our industry and developing new business capabilities in emerging areas such as energy storage, electric vehicles, distributed energy resources, and the digital grid.   Additionally, he frequently serves as an expert witness in legislative and regulatory testimony.

Jim started his career as a military officer and then joined Sargent & Lundy where he was a leader in their asset performance team.    He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MS in Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Northwestern University.
