Kristina Skierka
CEO
Power for All
Sessions:
As the CEO of the Power for All campaign, Kristina has helped create a movement dedicated to achieving universal energy access before 2030. Kristina coordinates a global team alongside country-led initiatives in East and West Africa, as well as India, to advance integrated energy that optimizes the use of decentralized renewable energy solutions—ranging from minigrids to solar rooftop systems and mobile solar farms —to bring clean energy to the 2 billion people without access to clean, affordable, reliable energy. Under her direction, Power for All has grown into international effort with over 250 partners focused on uniting centralized utilities and the decentralized renewable energy sector to end energy poverty faster.
A strategist by trade and an environmentalist at heart, Kristina brings over 20 years of experience to her leadership role at Power for All. Kristina’s expertise has informed a number of well-known environmental leadership initiatives and public awareness efforts around energy, including Flex Your Power, California’s award-winning energy efficiency campaign. Prior to founding Power for All, her private sector clients included a range of Fortune 500 corporations—including Applied Materials’ Bright Futures and Sun Microsystems’ Eco Responsibility initiatives—as well as Verdiem (PC power management) and Validus DC Systems (DC power for datacenters).
Kristina was named the Energy Foundation’s Senior Fellow at the California Public Utilities Commission (2009–2011), charged with leading implementation of the California Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan and driving zero net energy (ZNE) across multiple end-use sectors, including lighting, industry and the built environment. Kristina is a sought-after speaker, interviewee and writer on decentralized energy and the energy transition, ranging from African Utility Week to Tesla’s World Energy Innovation Forum and Greenbuild. Kristina was finalist for the Clean Energy Ministerial’s C3E award and has served on the board of Sustainable Silicon Valley and the Association of Women in Power.
