Matt Duesterberg
CEO and Co-founder
OhmConnect
Sessions:
Matt Duesterberg is CEO and Co-founder of OhmConnect, which provides an energy sharing service for residential homes. OhmConnect pays users to save energy during hours when the grid needs load shifted. Once OhmConnect has collected thousands of homes responding to signals in a specific area, OhmConnect can provide energy products that traditionally could only be provided by large power plants.
Previously, Matt ran the data science division at a utility meter data analytics company, DataRaker, which got acquired by Oracle in 2013. He started his energy industry career traded futures for electricity flows for a small quantitative trading firm, DC Energy. From prior experiences, Matt realized that a fundamental need within the energy industry was to bring expertise from outside the energy sector to solve problems that are common in other industries – such as consumer engagement, marketing, and software services. He has an MS from Stanford and a BS from UVA.
